The District Board
The District Board is the principal executive body of the District.
It is chaired by starosta; other members are the deputy starosta and others.
The Board is in charge of the execution of laws enacted by the District Council, as well as of all of the District’s official business.
The Board is responsible for:
- New law drafts;
- Execution of the Council’s enactments;
- Management of the assets of the District;
- Execution of the District’s budget rules;
- Appointment and dismissal of the heads of the District’s structure units.
In performance of its duties, exclusively the District Council can hold the Board responsible.
Internal structure and work scheme of the Board is prescribed by the District’s Charter.
The District’s Starostwo [an auxiliary executive body], its structure units and employment office execute their duties on behalf of the Board.
